Ann Taylor Darla Bootie ($198, 40%-off at checkout)
I’ve been searching for a pair of high-heel booties for two years now. Most of the pairs I’ve purchased were rejected for one of two reasons: 1) uncomfortable, or 2) too wide at the ankle opening for someone with thin calves and ankles.
I purchased these boots during last weekend’s AT sale. They have a 3.25″ heel. A shape that mixes the casual and the professional. And the buckle detail is just enough of an accent without being too much.
The best part about these boots? They’re very comfortable. I wore them on a 12-hour day with a moderate amount of walking (taking the stairs six times) and my feet felt great by the close. There was no tightness or rubbing. And even with a 3.25″ heel, the width of the heel offers quite a bit of stability.
The cognac looks good with jeans. The black would look great with jeans or black tights. I highly recommend these boots.
p.s. I wish these gorgeous over-the-knee boots were still available in my size.
I actually found the ankle opening on these to be too wide for me, leaving kind an odd gaping that you’ve described as a problem with other boots. But otherwise, very stylish and comfortable to boot (pun very much intended). I would definitely check them out in person if you can, ladies!
Any tips on styling over the knee boots? Over pants seems impossible, leggings seem too relaxed, and skirts seem like they have to be too short for the office to work. What;s your solution?
Over skinny pants works the best, imo. I also think they look great with pencil skirts. Just don’t opt for an over-the-knee boot that has too wide of an opening or flare at the top.
I love these – just wish the heel was a bit shorter…
I was so excited when I read this review because I’m all about cute, comfortable, quality shoes! I bought a pair because of this review, and I absolutely love them!! I got them in black and look forward to ordering them in the camel color as well. Thank you for recommending these!
