Ask Belle: Oversized Scarves for Fall

Sep 29, 2015

Dear Belle,

Where is everyone getting these cool oversized scarves?  I keep seeing women on the Metro wearing big scarves (some plaid, some not) but I haven’t seen any for sale.  Where should I be looking?

Love CHS! M

Oh, I love (love) a big scarf.  I like them so big it looks like they might smother me.  ASOS is the best place to find the biggest, widest scarves out there.  Here are a few of my favorites.

I have the first scarf listed, and it is the warmest, comfiest thing! When it arrived, my husband actually thought it was a blanket, but it’s perfect for these bitter NE winters.

  2. Sarah says:

Aritzia has amazing blanket scarves, I would definitely recommend. Extremely common site in major Canadian cities, but would be very unique elsewhere.

  3. s says:

great picks, i can’t wait for scarf weather 🙂

  4. KS says:

I also own the first scarf, and it is LARGE. Like, comically large. I’m thinking of bringing it to a tailor and turning it into two scarves because I love the print so much.

  5. EM says:

I also recommend checking Zara! I got a scarf very similar to option #1 last season and love it.

  6. Sarah says:

Does anyone have any recommendations for blanket size scarves that don’t have any wool in them? I’m really sensitive to wool and actually use scarves to keep my wool coats from bothering my neck in the winter!

  7. […] sure if I had some ridiculous oversized scarf I’d love the shit out of that, though. Capitol Hill Style shared one from ASOS recently that is killing me (third from the top in the post). […]
