Morning Line: September 23

Looking for some fall work pumps that go beyond the basic?  There are some great t-straps on the market.  T-straps bring a cool, vintage vibe to any outfit.  I suggest buying them in a color or metallic to perk up basic work dresses and wearing them with micro-fishnets.

Nine West Tornado Pumps ($89, 20%-off two or more styles)

I also thought about these $45 silver metallic pumps from Camille La Vie.

Just a warning: the Nine West pumps are extremely uncomfortable and I still haven’t managed to break them in. After about a half hour, I got blisters around the toe area and the backs of my heels. So if your job requires more than sitting at a desk, I might not wear them to work (for a night out with minimal walking, they’re not so bad).

Microfishnets – This is the year that I buy them. Do you still recognize the DKNY?

The Range: Best Picks from Ann Taylor

One of the questions that is often asked about D.C. fashion is: Why is there so much Ann Taylor? The answer is simple enough — the hemlines are long enough, the styles are easy to wear, almost everything is machine washable, and it’s easy to find pieces for professional offices or casual ones. The Range: Trouser Jeans

Yesterday, we chatted about not-see-through tees. Today, I want to talk about jeans. I am so grateful wide leg denim is back in a big way. And if you’re going to the office, you need a trouser style jean to see you through the week (or just casual Friday). Here are some favorites in different […]
