1) Working like a man does not make women equal.

2) Need a cool beach/pool bag for your Labor Day vacay?  This metallic Oasis shopper is chic.  I also love this structured, monogrammed canvas tote.

3) Fast Company shows you how to tap into your ‘hidden productivity powers’ to get things done.

4) I am lusting over this floral tank from Anthropologie.  So good with a suit.  This lacy peasant top also caught my eye.

5) Thousands of deserving families are on waiting lists for public housing.  So why not ask families who earn $498,000 a year to move out of their gov’t assisted rentals?

6) Skin a little shiny?  Beautyblender’s new Blotterazzi absorbs oil and smooths out your makeup.  Or prevent shine with this Rimmel matte primer.

7) How to bounce back from a horrible, terrible, no good, very bad day at the office.

8) I am loving all the blush-colored pieces out there right now.  This Ivanka Trump dress with a flare skirt is so cute.  I also love these strappy sandals with metallic accents.  And don’t miss this under-$25 top from Forever 21 with a cute flutter sleeve.

9) The Cut asks, “Is there a right way to reject a guy?”

10) This reversible Talbots buckle belt comes in seven great colors.  If you need tips on how to style it, check out Extra Petite’s ideas.

11) Would you take a cut in salary for the ability to have long weekends?

Eye Candy. Lela Rose has created a lace dress that is both modern and feminine, and it’s gorgeous.

I really disagree with the ‘quote’ in the image. I definitely think there is value in quitting something that is not right – whether it’s a job to go to grad school, a relationship that is not working or healthy, or a hobby that is not satisfying. It’s easy to say, “oh, well, it’s just meant to be an encouraging quote” but I also think giving someone permission to stop and quit can be encouraging, as well.

I think the assumption is that you’re making progress toward a goal you want to achieve and you may need to be patient about achieving it.

You take what you want to see from it, your experience leads you to see something different.

I tried the Rimmel primer for about two weeks, but found that it actually had the opposite effect on my oily skin– it was great for the first half hour I had it on, but it didn’t have any staying power and wound up leaving my skin shinier than had I just used a normal routine. Hopefully you’ve had a different experience with it– obviously everyone’s skin works differently.

It’s more expensive, but Make Up For Ever’s mattifying primer has been great for me, and if you can splurge and the Rimmel one isn’t working for you, it’s worth it to not have to worry about shininess. I lasted through an entire day in the sun for a wedding and only had to blot once 4-5 hour after makeup application. Highly recommend!

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.
