1) The Washington Post discusses how unconscious gender-bias can lead women to hold their daughters back from becoming strong leaders.

2) Another day, another incredibly gorgeous bag from Tod’s.

3) The Honest Company is under fire for selling sunscreen with less than half the required amount of sun-protectant in it.

4) Looking for a great “guy gift”?  The Corkcicle Decapitator opens any beer or soda bottle with one push.

5)  A Seattle-based company raised their base salary to $70,000.  The after-effects and backlash surprised almost everyone.

6) This Stella McCartney designed gym bag is so chic.  I also really like this zen-tote from Eddie Bauer.

7) What it’s really like to be a political speech writer.

8) TBD shows how to apply multiple face masks at one time to treat different skin conditions.  I like Origins Clear Improvement for acne and Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration for dry spots.

9) Fusion discusses why erasing yourself from the Internet is really, really hard.

10) Dillard’s is having a HUGE sale; don’t miss out.  So many great pieces from Antonio Melani.  I had to have this chic work look.

11) For the kid in everyone, this machine gun-style bubble maker is like a dream come true.

  1. Sarah says:

Friendly grammar tip here: it should be “holding their daughters back”, not “daughter’s back”! Otherwise, the reader thinks you mean all mothers are holding onto one daughter’s back…not what you mean!
plurals do not have apostrophes. Apostrophes show possession or a contraction!

    • Belle says:

I know how to use an apostrophe. It’s a simple typo. Thanks for pointing it out.

      • pilates princess says:

Just want to send some love on this. Misplaced apostrophes and misused homonyms happen. Why people relish pointing out typos like they’re a sign of someone’s illiteracy is beyond me.

    • Anna says:

My mom used to be a stickler for good posture. She would often walk up behind me and pull my shoulders back while I walked, so to me, the title with the typo would be oddly relevant, even nostalgic.

  2. D says:

Speaking of Dillard’s sale, if any Senate staffers need a little seersucker in their life, the Alex Marie line has a suit on sale. It is lined, which sort of defeats the purpose, but it fits TTS.

  3. Sarah says:

Hi Belle, I’m glad you know! I guess then I would advocate more proofreading 🙂 Typos happen, but you are publishing your work so I know you know that even typos can reflect back upon you unfortunately.

  4. Sara says:

Thanks for the TBD link! Also, that Eddie Bauer (suprising to me!) tote is awesome.

  5. Laura F. says:

I think it’s ridiculous that people feel the need to instruct Belle on grammar. Lol. This is a fashion and lifestyle blog. It’s fun and informative. No need to make it too serious, people! 🙂

  6. Not so “honest” about their sunscreen are they

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.
