The Foundation Piece. A sleeveless silky shell is a great piece for any season.  It’s a piece that can be layered under casual wear or workwear.  And in the warmer weather, you can remove your sweater or jacket and still look professional.  You can’t do that with a spaghetti strap tank.

This pale pink top from Tahari is fab.  I also like this basic shell from Pendleton in ivory, pale pink, or black.  And this Tahari ASL tie-front top is also a good option.  Plus-size?  Try this knit shell from August Silk and this Ellen Tracy pleated shell.

Casual Monday.  A short sleeve cardigan is a great option for summer.  LOFT has this great sweater in nine colors.  I also like this slightly fitted cardigan from WHBM.  Plus-size?  Try this semi-sheer cardigan from Target.

To the cardigan, I added a basic navy pencil skirt.  Most of us own one, and finding new ways to wear it is always appreciated.  A cardigan and blouse is a classic combination to wear with a pencil.  And I love the tonal complement of the pink top with the pink cardigan.

Want more color?  The Boden skirt also comes in bright green, which would look lovely with the pink.

For the rest of the accessories, silver and grey felt right.  This Moda satchel is awesome.  It’s a good size, and it has pockets.  Say no more.  And these shoes, I haven’t pulled the trigger yet, but I am definitely going to buy them.

For the hair, I would keep it soft, and I would style it in a twisted updo.  For the makeup, I think a taupe eyeshadow with a black liner would be nice.

Conference Chic. Many women struggle with what to wear to a business conference.  This outfit is a good option for a day that will stretch into night.  With the jacket, it’s business.  Remove the jacket, add a big cuff, and you have a cocktail look.

I adore this skirt.  It is a cool print that isn’t too pretty or too bold.  And it’s on sale, you can’t beat that.

This Topshop blazer is a great piece.  Topshop also has a collarless blazer with a light peplum in the same pale pink.  For plus-size reader, I found this traditional cut pink blazer from Tahari ASL.

The bag I chose for this outfit is an off-white.  White bags are a hot item right now, so I thought this inexpensive satchel is a great way to jump into the trend.  I also love this pricier fringed tote from Rebecca Minkoff.

For the hair, I want something sleek.  Perhaps a flat-ironed straight style or a low ponytail with a black elastic cover.  For the makeup, I would paint my nails a darker pink like this Marc Jacobs Shocking pink.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.

The Find: My Best Workout Shorts

For eight years, I have worn the same workout shorts. Every year, an influencer tries to sell me new shorts. I order them. I try them on. They pale in comparison to the shorts I already own. I return them.
