Maison Scotch Bird Print Scarf ($69) // Topshop Moto Leigh Jeans ($65) // Intermix 360 Sweater ($99) // Charlotte Russe Block Heel Sandal ($33) // Puma Tortoise Sunglasses ($189) // Infinity Stud Earrings ($48) // Michael Kors Runway Watch ($188) // Neiman Marcus Four-Zip Bag ($68)

***

If I were asked to describe this look, I would say that it’s the city meets the Hamptons.  The breeze neutral sweater screams evenings on the beach to me.  The distressed jeans and high heels bring it up a notch.  It’s the perfect outfit for chilly spring weekends when you want a look that is modern and chic, but still light and feminine.  Check out Hello Fashion for more photos.

Scarf. I adore this Maison Scotch scarf.  The bird print is great.  But if you want to stick to a dotted print, try this classic Ralph Lauren scarf.

Jeans. I like the look of a white distressed jean.  It’s a trendy piece for summer, so I wouldn’t recommend spending more than $75 on a pair.  This Topshop pair is nice, and this Old Navy pair offers jeans with a more subtle distressed look.  Both pairs also come in petite.

Not interested in distressed jeans?  My favorite AG Farrah jeans come in white.

Sweater. The breezy look of this Intermix sweater is fabulous.  Layer it over a nude cami or slouchy tee.  It would look great over a bikini top and shorts.  If you’re looking for something more substantial, this All Saints sweater is to die for.

Sandals. A suede bootie isn’t practical for my life, but the M.Gemi boot in the photo is pretty chic.  I also found this TOMS bootie that’s kind of cute.  But these chunky sandals are a much better choice for me.

Accessories. I adore these sunglasses.  Tortoise is a versatile choice, and the color in this pattern is really unique.  I think they’re really fun.  If you’re looking for a cheaper pair, these Calvin Klein sunglasses are similar for $40.

For the jewelry, a chunky watch is a chic addition to any outfit.  This MK watch is one of the most popular.  I also chose the Kate Spade Infinity studs for just a hint of shine.

This bag is a versatile option at a great price.  I also like this Rebecca Minkoff Clark hobo for its relaxed, stylish look.

I know a lot of blogs have been touting white jeans year-round now but when do you think that white jeans are ok to start wearing? I’ll be in NYC next weekend and would love to recreate this look but I don’t wna tto look stupid

I wear them all year round. Some people think you can’t wear white until Memorial Day, others, Easter. I think those rules just aren’t as forceful as they once were, and no one in NYC will care.

Add to Cart: Five Recent Amazon Purchases

Since my daughter was born, Amazon has claimed so much of my money that I had to buy stock just to get some of it back.  Between the formula, onesies, fruit pouches, diapers, wipes, and ever evolving list of baby development gear, I could not survive without Prime.   My husband no longer notices the […]
