There are few things I love more than an end of week cocktail with friends.  One those beloved things is a great Friday night meal.  Cooking up a bit of comfort food while basking in the glow of a forthcoming weekend, there are few things better.

This recipe is for Jamie Oliver’s Ultimate Roast Chicken.  The recipe shows you how to prep the chicken, roast the vegetables and make the gravy.  So invite a couple of friends over, have them bring the salad, dessert, and wine and enjoy a blissful Friday night.

But what does one wear for a night cooking at home?

Karen Kane Long-Sleeve Maxi Dress ($85)

Why a maxi dress?

Washable?  Check.  Comfortable?  Check.  Just dress it up with a long necklace or some fun hoop earrings and you’re done.

Looking for some other options?  I like this printed Michael Kors dress from Nordstrom.  This Splendid high-slit maxi is fun.  And don’t miss this LNA maxi-dress with a cut-out back.

Plus-size? I like this 24/7 Comfort Apparel dress.  Petite?  This orange Spense dress is nice.  Tall?  Try this American Apparel dress.

Also, I love a cheeky apron.  They’re not the classiest things in the world, but they can be kind of fun.  I bought my Brother this “Many Have Eaten Here, Few Have Died” apron.  Or you can choose the standard striped chef’s apron.

Happy Hour

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
