Aqua Draped Sleeve Sweater ($59) // Teardrop Pendant ($49) // Envelope Sheath Dress ($150)

Layered dresses are a hot trend right now, so I thought I would recreate that look with a boxy sweater over a sleek, fitted sheath.  Wearing a sweater over a fitted dress is also a great way to go from day-to-night after work.  Just lose the sweater before you head out.

Two comments: 1) This sweater is much (MUCH) cuter in person.  The color is brighter aqua, and the side vents make it a fun, breezy piece.  2) This dress is not the ideal choice for this.  Banana Republic is selling a knee-length, racerback sheath in both white and navy, but they’re not selling it online.  If you’re looking for something ideal, this Mallory from Jones New York is a better choice.

Looking for something similar in plus-size? Try this Kasper sheath and this cropped pullover from Target.

Why is the dress not ideal? I’m guessing the asymmetrical hemline? I like the layering idea, though.

      The length is a little shorter than I’d like. It’s a 35″ hem, knee-length is usually 37 or 38.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
