Faded Crew Neck Sweater ($31) // Ruffle-neck Pleated Tank ($29) // Pencil Skirt ($55)

This week, the morning post will feature outfits created from a single retailer’s stock.  Today, Gap.

For this outfit, I paired a muted yellow sweater with a ruffle neck blouse and pencil skirt.  It’s a lively twist on a classic combination.  If you’re not feeling the blouse, a standard button-up will work too.

This outfit comes in tall and petite sizes as well.  If you need pieces to create a plus-size equivalent, start with this Jones New York skirt, add this yellow v-neck sweater and this Pendleton button-up with a ruffled, stand collar.

I love the white blouse. I have not looked at the Gap in quite awhile- maybe now is a good time to check them out again!

  2. I miss shopping at Gap (it has been a long time since I’ve made a purchase, though I used to be a regular shopper), and I think for me there are fit issues. All of their tops seem a little too short and a little too wide at the bottom (like the one above – it doesn’t seem to drape, it seems to gape). It’s a bummer, because normally I am all over a white ruffle-y blouse.

My dark under eye circles have been the bane of my existence since I was 12. Is the cause lack of sleep? Dehydration? Sinus issues? Stress? Who the hell knows. But there they are, every day, telling the world that I am an exhausted working Mom.

Sloane loves the pool. She jumps from the deck into the water with a crash, never considering her own safety, only to emerge on the surface, shouting “Again!” The pool is my daughter’s happy place. But no place where I need to wear a swimsuit in public is a happy one for me.

The Mondays: July 22, 2024

The Crowdstrike/Microsoft Meltdown forced me to take a few days off this weekend. No laptop. No billable hours. So we packed Sloane up for a visit to a local llama farm, stopped by the pool, went for coffee, etc. Few things are as funny as watching a 23-month old feed carrots to a ravenous rescue […]
