1) Why you should spend your money on experiences, not things.

2) This deodorant removing sponge is life changing.

3) Above the Law offers the best advice for interns looking for a leg up.  It’s great advice for anyone just starting out.

4) Nordstrom has some fab new arrivals.  This under-$100 scallop-front blazer is going to be a summer favorite.  This NYDJ crepe dress has a classic shape in a gorgeous sapphire blue.  This gathered, high-neck halter also caught my eye.

5) You know how I love a good remodel.  This before and after from Apartment Therapy is impressive.

6) I just started using this bareSkin Perfecting Face Brush to apply my foundation, and I love it. Use less foundation, generate less waste, get more even coverage.  You can also mix in primer easily.

7) American citizens living in the U.S. Territories aren’t able to vote for President.  John Oliver’s Last Week Tonight has the story.

8) This navy and rose gold watch is the definition of sophisticated casual.

What foundation do you use with the bareSkin Perfecting Face Brush? I was using the bare Minerals liquid but didnt love it

  2. Stefanie says:

I heard the bareSkin face brush is hard to clean – have you found that to be the case?

  3. Wanda says:

Thank you for sharing this video about the injust treatment of US citizens in US territories. My family is from Puerto Rico and this has always made me sick. What’s worse is the ignorance of the vast majority of the US population. I suppose getting the information out there is a statt but imore needs to be done to change this situation.

  4. AZ says:

Just to state the obvious, but let’s not forget that the “territories” includes US citizens living in Washington, DC.

    • Belle says:

Citizens living in D.C. get to vote for President. They don’t have a Congressman or a Senator who can vote on the floor, but they can vote for President.

  5. Tara says:

For what its worth, I’ve always found it easy to remove deodorant marks by rubbing panty hose over the area!

    • Belle says:

Hitha at Hitha On The Go recommended a dryer sheet, but I hadn’t heard the panty hose suggestion before.

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.

Ask the Editor: Vol. IV, No. Eighteen

Before we start today’s reader questions, I wanted to take a moment to talk a bit about mental health. For those who experience mental health challenges — whether occasionally or frequently — talking about our struggles is a double-edged sword.
