1) A group of women is advocating ditching Andrew Jackson, and putting the face of a notable woman on the $20 bill.  They have a list of candidates; I’m on Team Eleanor Roosevelt.

2) This metallic jacquard from Rauol skirt is a great piece for adding a bit of glitz to your work wardrobe.

3) One mother explains her feelings about her daughter’s decision to join a convent in this interesting opinion piece.

4) I need a sleep mask to get a good night’s rest. I’m hoping this Illuminage mask with copper-infused fabric will also fight fine lines while I snooze.

5) “Ferris Bueller, you’re my hero!” Fast Company tackles the enduring popularity of John Hughes’ films.

6) I like short nightgowns for warm weather.  This DKNY number is a basic option.  For a lacier option, this Eberjey chemise is the way to go.

“Andrew Jackson engineered a genocide. He shouldn’t be on our currency” – Slate Magazine

I don’t carry $20s because he’s on them. So I’m 100% for replacing him with anyone, especially a woman. -Also team Elanor Roosevelt, she’s awesome.

    • Belle says:

A few years ago, I was on Twitter and someone said M Obama was the greatest first lady in history. And I was like, so the Int’l Declaration of Human Rights is not as important as Let’s Move? Oh, okay, (facepalm).

  2. Betsy says:

I have never been a huge Andrew Jackson fan and would love to see him replaced by a number of the awesome choices available. I like ER a alot (what’s not to love?), but Alice Paul is amazing. If you haven’t seen the film IRON-JAWED ANGELS please do! It’s great. I also love Harriet Tubman, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Shirley Chisholm..

Susan B has had her turn on the dollar coin – I love her, but would love to see someone different honored.

  3. KC says:

I like Eleanor Roosevelt or Frances Perkins. I’m surprised Margaret Sanger made the list. While she did a lot to further women’s reproductive rights, and controversy regarding abortion aside, she had some strong positions on eugenics which would be considered pretty offensive by most people regardless of their party affiliation. It seems like an uphill battle to replace one controversial figure with another one.

  4. Dallas says:

Let’s double down and get a black woman on the $20, since all of the other folks are white.

  5. EW says:

Thanks for pointing out the opinion piece. I have a very young daughter, and it made me a little misty. I am sorry to say that I had never considered the sacrifice that families make when a member enters religious orders.

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.
