Ask Belle: Flats for Spring

Mar 12, 2015

Hi Belle,

Last summer, I wore beige flats to work with all of my dresses and skirts.  I need to replace that pair with something similar. I want to spend under-$150.  Also, do you have any recommendations for alternatives for nude-to-you flats?

Appreciate the help, Kathie

A great pair of flats is a wardrobe staple for most working women.  Whether you wear them to the office, on your commute, or to give your feet a break on the weekends, having a stylish, go-to pair of flats just makes getting dressed easier.  Here are a few suggestions for ladies looking for flats for spring and summer.

Not feeling the beige?  I also like metallic flats for the warmer months.  I basically live in gold flats from March until October.  You can also choose an animal print like snakeskin.

    Hi Belle,

I would love to see a similar roundup of nude or metallic wedges- something that says summer but can still be worn with my pants (which are tailored for 2.5-3.5″ heels). Most wedges I see seem inappropriate for the office (too matronly/too beachy) and I would love to see your take.

    Thanks!

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
