Morning Line: March 2

Mar 2, 2015

This week, the blog will look a little different.  I want to try out a new format and bring in some different content.  It might be nice to freshen things up a bit, so let’s change things up a bit.

DvF Pele Dress ($119)

Off 5th, the discount sibling of Saks Fifth Avenue, is having a major sale.  So.many.good.things.

DvF, DvF for Days.  Want wrap dresses?  Black and white, orange print, blue geometric print, basic grey.  The best in the bunch is this Jeanne berry-colored wrap.  I also like this fun Syrah blouse in an agate print.

Work It.  Their Wear to Work shop is one the better ones online.  This BCBG combo dress in navy and ivory or black and ivory caught my eye.  Looking for tops? This green Helmut Lang is a winner.  I also like this short-sleeve Theory blouse in ice blue.

Rebecca Taylor Collarless Jacket ($179)

Shoes. My Mom will be excited to see these cracked-metallic Frye ballet flats.  These Ivanka Trump leopard t-straps are still a favorite.  These Cole Haan wedges are perfect for spring.

Under-$150 Pieces. This draped, tulip skirt from Lafayette 148 is sublime.  These deco earrings from Alexis Bittar can liven up any cocktail dress.  These gorgeous black dresses from Rebecca Taylor (cap sleeves) and Vince (bracelet sleeves).

Ellen Tracy Belted Sleeveless Scuba Dress ($71)

Under-$75 Pieces. I love this tuck-front blouse from Max Studio.  This Tahari sheath dress is nice, as is this stretch-knit dress from Carmen Marc Valvo.  And I really love this peplum jacket from Patterson Kincaid.

Plus-Size Pieces. This printed fit-and-flare dress from Calvin Klein is nice.  This tunic sweater is perfect for the weekend.  This Lafayette 148 tunic in crisp cotton is also a nice choice.

Cool. Looking forward to the changes but I love the thing you do with the same style at 3 price-points. Please keep that!

Also — your plus-size picks are great! Thank you.

The Find: A Versatile Sweater Jacket

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
