When I think of mules, I think of clunky, cloven shoes that barely qualify as heels. But this recent trend toward sleeker pumps has me rethinking that characterization.

I just cannot get myself to wear mules to work.Period. For weekend and night outs yes, for work, cannot get my mind to say yes.
I agree, even on a casual day. Work shoes need backs, at least a strap. I can’t…just…can’t.
I was thinking about them for under pants. I’m not sure I would wear them with a skirt. I definitely wouldn’t wear them with a suit, but maybe on Friday with a pleated skirt.
I have never had a pair of mules that didn’t make the “flop flop flop” sound as I walked down the hall. Not the most professional. Cute for a date night though!
Good point. I guess I’ll have to try on a few pair because I hate the clopping noise as well.
There used to something called Tiger Tape that I once used in desperation on a loose slingback strap. It worked like a charm, and didn’t damage the shoe or my heel. It might be worth it for this type of shoe-stick a piece of double sided tape to the sole.
