Clove Back Cut-Out Dress ($98) // Nine West Doreen Sandals ($89) // Leith Stretch Bracelet ($32)

This cobalt Clove sheath is the perfect dress for spring/summer weddings.  I love the sleek shape and subtly sexy cut-out.  I also like this fun, red dress from Clove.

Some of you are inevitably going to wonder if you can wear this dress to work.  The answer is if, and ONLY if, you wear it with a jacket or cardigan and never remove the top layer.  I’d go with a white jacket or pale blue cardigan.

As for the shoes, I like the unique shape.  I also found these Report sandals that would look nice (try the coral color for a bold choice).  For something in a more traditional, but still interesting, style, try these Enzo Angiolini pumps.

Plus-size?  This Pendleton dress in cobalt has a flirty shape (also in misses and petite).

Re: wearing this dress to the office, I don’t think a blazer or cardigan is going to do the trick here. That certainly takes care of the exposed back, but the split neck/key-hole detail on the front is too deep to pass muster without either wearing something underneath or perhaps tailoring to close the opening a bit. I know we all want our clothes to serve more than one function, but definitely proceed with caution on this one.

I think that depends mostly on bust size. If it’s only as open as it i on the model, you’re probably okay. If it spreads more than that, I agree, it stops being okay.

Add to Cart: Five Recent Amazon Purchases

Since my daughter was born, Amazon has claimed so much of my money that I had to buy stock just to get some of it back.  Between the formula, onesies, fruit pouches, diapers, wipes, and ever evolving list of baby development gear, I could not survive without Prime.   My husband no longer notices the […]
