Stunning Necklaces from Stella & Dot

Jan 22, 2015

I am completely mesmerized by the new necklaces from Stella & Dot.

I think their jewelry has the best quality in the price range, and certainly the most style.  (My Rebel Necklace has worn very well for how much I wear it.)  And most pieces come in your choice of yellow- or white-toned metal.

Here are my favorite pieces from the new collection, shown in my favorite metal, yellow gold.

Aria Pendant Necklace ($98)

This necklace can be worn in multiple ways for more versatility.  It has a great boho-chic to it.

n387g_haley_1

Hayley Necklace ($79)

You can wear this necklace layered like above or long as a single strand.

n499g_bianca_lariat_neck_gold_main2_1

Bianca Lariat Necklace ($59)

n502g_fortuna-gold_main

Fortuna Stone Drop ($79)

I love the mystical quality of the luminous stone.  And like some of the necklace above, this one can be worn in a few different ways.

I like stella & dot’s aesthetic, but I think the price is a tad high for the quality. None of the metals are pure–I’d rather wear pure or plated brass than a plated base metal. I have nickel allergies so I may be especially sensitive to the metal quality issue. But in the $50-$100 price range, I can find tons of real sterling silver (or gold-fill, or gold plate over sterling silver) jewelry on Etsy. And I’m supporting independent artists, which is always a plus.

What do you think about Stella & Dot compared to Baublebar? I think they have similar price points and aesthetics, although Baublebar may be a little more “edgy.” Have you noticed any major quality or durability difference between the two?

  3. Whitney says:

I’ve actually stopped ordering from Baublebar, because the necklaces I ordered kept falling apart or tarnishing within a couple of months. They were usually pieces I got on sale, but I was a little shocked at the poor quality. I’ve been *much* happier with Stella & Dot.

I agree that these pieces are gorgeous, but I also agree that S&D is over-priced. I have no problem shelling out $$$ for fine jewelry, but when it comes to trendy, costume pieces, I buy cheap knock-offs from China. I’d never do that with clothing, but for jewelry that I’ll tire of after 1 season and that is criminally over-priced, I find ebay to be a great resource! 5. My best friend is a S+D stylist, and I love Stella and Dot. I’ve found a great wardrobe boost through their jewelry and accessories, without adding a lot of clothing to my wardrobe (heck, paring down, even). It’s an affordable, quality way to spruce up a wardrobe and transition easily from work to fun to the couch to a party.

The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
