I love this time of year.  Mostly because I love any excuse to get dressed up.  This week, I’ll be featuring outfit ideas for holiday parties starting with a stylish casual outfit.

This outfit is casual and cool with a dash of winter whimsy.  I love the texture on this Michelle Mason dress, and with the faux-fur vest it has a great apres-ski look.  Need a less expensive dress?  This Laundry by Shelli Segal dress has a great textured sleeve.  And in the under-$75 range, this Anais dress would also look great over skinny jeans.

Need something in plus size?  Try this pale grey sweater dress (also in petite) and this ivory fur vest.

I love these boots from Ivanka Trump!  But they are selling out fast, so these Calvin Klein boots are a good alternate choice.  Prefer booties?  These under-$50 boots from Charlotte Russe are a great place to start.

I accessorized the outfit with a pair of starburst studs in black and gold.  If you’re looking for a silvery snowflake earring instead?  These Sole Society studs are perfect.

For the hair, I would wear it up in a braided bun.  For the makeup, I would wear a red gloss and a good coat of black mascara.
