Belle’s Closet: The Perfect Holiday Sweater

Since I’m celebrating the holidays out West this year, my party dresses will spend soiree season gathering dust in the closet.  It’s tragic.  Luckily, I found an item that can be dressed up with a pencil skirt or dressed down with jeans for more relaxed holiday gatherings.

Topshop Semi-Sheer Sweater ($95)

The texture and hue remind me of those snowflake doilies I cut in elementary school.  Like the idea of a “fancy” sweater?  I like the lacy sleeves on this Anthropologie pullover.  Need something under-$50?  I love this Piperlime sweater with embellished sleeves.

So how do you jazz up a simple sweater?  I would spend a little more time on my hair (I like this this bouncy ponytail or this twisty bun.).  I’d also add a bold lipstick, like Bite Beauty’s Luminous Creme Lipstick (I like the magenta shade.).  And don’t forget a big, sparkly cocktail ring (The mix of blush and black is sublime.).
