Aldo Lily Satchel ($85)

Okay, so this bag isn’t under-$50.  But sometimes, the increase in awesomeness is worth the increase in price.  This satchel is feminine, modern, and comes in the perfect fall hue.

Aldo has a number of great bags in the $75 to $100 price point.  This sculptural bag is a 3.1 Phillip Lim knock-off with a strong shape and loads of style.  I also like this cognac satchel in a barrel shape with peaked corners and metal accents.

Looking for something under-$75?  The Adelaide bag is a structured satchel with gold hardware in black or cognac.  The Valefratta dome bag is the perfect understated work satchel.  This Stayter satchel has a larger, relaxed shape and comes in three colors.

Aldo is killing it right now, which surprises me. A remember a few years back I hated everything they carried.

Based on your tip I actually went there yesterday for some booties. I’m wearing them today and they’re super comfy, despite the heel! Thanks for the recommendation.

    Hey Belle,

What is the quality like at Aldo these days? The last time I bought an Aldo bag (back in 2005), it fell apart in 3 months. I really like the Phillip Lim- inspired bag above, however $90 is alot to spend on something that I can only use for 3 months…..

That Phillip Lim-inspired bag is to DIE for! The website here is saying it’s only $40, so I’m snapping it up right now!

This bag is to die for!!
The quality and style of their bags in general has improved so much over the past few years.
They are definitely doing something right!! Love it all.

My dark under eye circles have been the bane of my existence since I was 12. Is the cause lack of sleep? Dehydration? Sinus issues? Stress? Who the hell knows. But there they are, every day, telling the world that I am an exhausted working Mom.

Sloane loves the pool. She jumps from the deck into the water with a crash, never considering her own safety, only to emerge on the surface, shouting “Again!” The pool is my daughter’s happy place. But no place where I need to wear a swimsuit in public is a happy one for me.

The Mondays: July 22, 2024

The Crowdstrike/Microsoft Meltdown forced me to take a few days off this weekend. No laptop. No billable hours. So we packed Sloane up for a visit to a local llama farm, stopped by the pool, went for coffee, etc. Few things are as funny as watching a 23-month old feed carrots to a ravenous rescue […]
