H&M has a wonderful selection of jackets and blazers, most under-$50. This textured jacket with leather details is a nice option. I also like this boxy, boucle jacket. This pink, biker jacket is a fun item to wear on weekends.
For the office, H&M has this grey melange jacket with a light peplum and this neutral jacket with subtle leather detailing. This collarless ivory jacket is also a good option (wear it with a scoop neck shell and wide-leg trousers).
For a traditional blazer look and fit, H&M has a few inexpensive choices. This black jersey blazer would be a great casual or relaxed-office option. This single-breasted blazer in dark blue (navy) is a great work blazer for the price.
Petite? This Merona blazer is a nice option for $15. I also like this cobalt blazer from Calvin Klein (limited sizes).
Plus-size? This striped Merona blazer is fun. This Land’s End jacket, with a piped white trim, is a nice choice for a conservative office.
Great jacket! I may have to swing by H&M today…

Love that jacket!!
This post couldn’t come at a better time. I’ve been mulling over my shopping cart full of H&M blazers and jackets. Can anybody speak to their quality? If it’s a needle-in-a-haystack sort of situation, like it is with Forever 21, where you might find decent quality amidst mostly wash once and consider it game over, I think I’ll pare down.
Most of my non-suit blazers are from H&M, and I’ve had many of them for several years. I actually think they are of good quality for the price – they’re not high-end by any means, but for $40-50 I think they hold up well. I find that the long-line blazers, which are usually a little pricier, hold up better, as do the woven blazers versus the knit ones. Just be sure to either dry clean them or wash them on the delicates cycle, hang to dry and shape them on the hanger.
