I adore Anthropologie. True, many of the styles are too Bohemian for me. But when I find something that I love, I truly love it. Here are a few of my favorite pieces from their new arrivals for fall–soft, elegant, and utterly feminine.
The sheer accents on this lacy tee are sublime. I love the lightness that they give to the top. Wear this under a chunky ivory sweater or with a rough, wool blazer to achieve a subtle interplay of textures.
The bold red, the pleated fabric, the structured shape…be still my beating heart. Talk about making a statement. Wear this to work meetings with grey or tan heels (no red and black combos, please).
I also adore this cross-column knit dress in graphite. It’s the perfect relaxed work dress to pair with tights and tall boots.
This sweater is perfect for winter. Throw it on over a pair of leggings to wear at home, or with jeans for casual brunches. I just love the slouchy style and the mix of textures. I also love this stamped jacquard cardigan in a black and white, geometric print.
Anthropologie has become my new go-to for casual / work dresses, which I’ve only recently begun adding to my wardrobe. But I can only look at the sale section, I can’t believe the full price on some of their items!
Some of them are pretty ridiculous. I do find some nice pieces under $200, but when you see $600 shoes from a brand you’ve never heard of there is a moment of WTF?
That pencil dress stole my heart!! wow..
Maybe a silly questions, but Why is red and black off limits? I actually find myself wearing the colors a lot. My company logo is red and black and people recognize me walking around the Capitol based on my signature red bag.
It can look good, but I find the combination a bit harsh. If you like it, wear it, but for me it’s too severe.
Red and black together makes me feel like a badass…it’s a favorite color combo of mine for when I want to project power and confidence. That red dress is amazing and I need to have it.
Glad to see I’m not the only one here to defend red and black! I think it especially escapes harshness when it’s dress/shoes with bare legs in between.
While I love Anthro I do need to pipe in on the quality issues with the red dress. Having tried this on in stores my feedback is less than positive. The fabric is really flimsy, the lining is haphazardly done and the slit in the neck isn’t meant for a cup size over B. While this is really beautiful wanted to share my thoughts before anyone made a purchase.
