Morning Line: September 16

Sep 16, 2014

I’m headed out of town this weekend, so I’m a bit behind the eight-ball trying to finish this week and start the next. Thus, today’s blog posts will be Wednesday’s content.

Kenneth Cole Amber Tweed Jacket ($69 or $89 depending on size)

I’m always on the hunt for a jacket that can do double duty as work attire and business casual attire.  This jacket is one of those.  Wear it over a black sheath dress for a classic, professional look.  Wear it with skinny denim and leopard flats for a Friday look.

Looking for black?  This Wells Grace jacket is modern and cool.  This navy LOFT jacket comes in misses and petite.  I also like this grey, tweed moto-jacket from Piperlime.

Plus-size: This Sejour jacket costs $128, but it’s the most stylish piece in the whole post.  Petite: This Halogen jacket is one of my favorite recent purchases.  Tall: The LOFT jacket mentioned above comes in tall sizes.

  1. I Bought It says:

Just an FYI for anyone thinking of getting that Kenneth Cole jacket: the description says the model is 5’11” with a 34 bust wearing a 4. I’m 5’9″ with the same bust, and the 4 was tight across the shoulders & bust and short in the arms. I think a 6 would be a better fit for anyone with similar proportions. But it was darned cute, just like the picture. 🙂

The Range: Best Picks from Ann Taylor

One of the questions that is often asked about D.C. fashion is: Why is there so much Ann Taylor? The answer is simple enough — the hemlines are long enough, the styles are easy to wear, almost everything is machine washable, and it’s easy to find pieces for professional offices or casual ones. Plus, there’s […]

The Range: Trouser Jeans

Yesterday, we chatted about not-see-through tees. Today, I want to talk about jeans. I am so grateful wide leg denim is back in a big way. And if you’re going to the office, you need a trouser style jean to see you through the week (or just casual Friday). Here are some favorites in different […]
