Morning Line: September 15

Sep 15, 2014

After six years, I decided to change the name of the morning post.  10th Commandment was an inside joke that created confusion as the blog grew in popularity.  So it’s time for a change.

I’m headed to D.C. this weekend (can.not.wait), so I’m trying to get ahead on my schoolwork and the blog.  Thus, this week will be an under-$100 week.

Ann-Taylor-Faux-Leather-Pencil-Skirt

Faux Leather Paneled Skirt ($98, + 50%-off with code DEAL50)

I adore this skirt from Ann Taylor.  It’s a great way to indulge in this season’s leather trend without diving in head first.

For a subtler look, this Chico’s skirt has just a whisper of faux-leather trim.  This JCPenney skirt has a leather panel for under-$30.  Looking for a more forgiving shape?  This pleated, A-line skirt from Ivanka Trump is a great option.

Plus-size: Try this Anne Klein skirt, or this a-line Jones New York skirt.  Petite: This Worthington skirt is nice. The Ann Taylor skirt also comes in petite.  Tall: Ann Taylor has a lace and leather skirt that might not be great for work, but is nice for after hours.

I got a leather paneled skirt from Classiques during the Nordstrom sale that I LOVE. It is so flattering, the leather is REAL, and there’s a zipper detail that is edgy without being too much.

Love that Ann Taylor skirt! Usually I find that they faux-leather trend tends to play a bit too much on the sexy side (ultra tight, ultra short, etc) but this is very classy. Great find!

Love this! But I have no clue in regards to what kind of shoes youd wear for work and going out with this skirt.

Aww, I am a new blog reader and I totally got the 10th commandment joke. It’s clever and funny! But change can be a good thing too. 🙂

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
