H&M Resin Chain Necklace ($13)

I’m a bit of an odd bird in the blog world because I actually like cheap jewelry.  I have a handful of nicer staples, but most of my jewelry comes from discount shops or thrift stores and cost under-$20.  I want to wear something a lot, get bored with it and then replace it with something new.

This resin chain necklace from H&M is just the kind of thing I’m looking to buy.  It makes a statement, but it’s still subtle.  I also love this pack of 15 super-skinny bracelets.  These dangly, almost-Egyptian Revival earrings are also a lot of fun for a Friday night.

Another great place to find jewelry that won’t break the bank?  Sole Society.  This Jasper bangle is on the higher end of what I like to spend, but it is worth every penny.  On the more affordable side, I love these geometric mini-hoops.  And do not miss this $20 square bangle, perfect for layering.

Need a way to keep the metal tone on your cheap jewelry?  Give them a spritz with Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Spray.

I’m in the same boat with my jewelry. I can’t stand spending a ton on it because I’ll get tired of it, though I do hate when a cheaper piece of jewelry wears out before I’m tired of it (this has happened to me several times with Banana Republic stuff).

Belle the acrylic spray idea is GENIUS. SHEER GENIUS. I can’t tell you how many cheap pieces I’ve loved that have met their untimely end due to starting to look tarnished. I’m doing this on my beloved ‘B’ bracelet tonight!

I love getting jewelry from H&M and Forever 21. H&M has some great stud sets. Also, Francesca’s Collections has AMAZING earrings!

Hehe..Even I prefer going for cheap jewelry most of the times ! I guess its not that bad

On the acrylic coat – does it work to keep metals from irritating your skin? I love a good cheap statement necklace but I find that if I wear some for more than an hour my neck starts to itch like crazy from the fake metal. Could spraying this on prevent that from happening?

Happy Hour: Atlantic Beach Pie

There are two kinds of people in this world: People who eat cake on their birthdays and people who don’t.  And some of the weirdos in the latter category (I said what I said) eat pie as an alternative.  So if you’re a “birthday pie” eater with a late summer celebration coming up, may I […]

The Find: The Only Wire-Free Bra That Didn’t Fail Me

After Sloane was born, I developed a seething hatred for underwire bras.  The trouble was that I had also developed a larger, slightly droopier bust.  It was a cruel irony.

The 2010s Trends I’m Loving and Leaving Behind

Our tween and teen nieces spent the first half of 2023 reviving our high school fashions.  From peasant tops to low rises, I felt like I was back bopping to N’SYNC in my mint-green sedan for a minute.  Now, our 20-something direct reports are bringing back the 2010s in a big way, and I am […]
