Hi Belle,
I’ve been passing this Derek Lam jacket in the window of the Georgetown Intermix on my walk to work each day and I’m becoming obsessed. Any ideas for a cheaper copycat?
Thanks! Hope you’re enjoying yourself out West. -Anon
A tweed jacket is a good choice for any professional or business casual wardrobe. Wear it with work separates, over sheath dresses or with denim. The Lam jacket is a lovely option, but $450 is a lot to spend on one jacket.
Club Monaco Jenna Jacket ($249)
There weren’t many choices in ivory and white. This Club Monaco jacket was the best one that I found. Need something under-$100? This Nine West drape-front jacket is a great choice. I also love this Kenneth Cole Amber jacket from Lord & Taylor.
Looking for basic black? This Brompton jacket from Boden is a good option. Also, this Halogen mixed-media jacket comes in a modern mix of navy and black.
Plus-size? It’s difficult to find a tweed jacket that isn’t cropped, so I’d keep looking as we get into the fall months. This Pendleton jacket is a nice option in a soft, navy melange.
Petite? The Halogen jacket that I mentioned above comes in petite, as does this fringed jacket from Land’s End.

This one is expensive, even on sale, but really quite beautiful: https://www.annmashburn.com/sale/jackets/ivory-wool-ann-mashburn-gamine-jacket.html

I found a couple at H&M that are actually lined that look very similar if you want to go super cheap. I can’t find the on the website, but I saw them in-store on Sunday.

White House Black Market has several similar jackets right now. Some are more Chanel-esque with embellishment, but others are dead ringers for this one.

Thanks for posting my questions! Now if it will just cool down enough for me to wear tweed in DC without keeling over….
