Work Wednesday: Professional Fashion Bloggers

Jun 18, 2014

When I started this blog six years ago (what?!?!), there were very few bloggers who talked about professional attire.  Well, at least there weren’t many bloggers who didn’t think that a suit jacket with shorts was workwear.  Since then, more blogs have popped up that cater to ladies with serious jobs.

I love Jean at Extra Petite.  Meaghan at District Sparkle has a funky work style.  There’s also The Classy Cubicle and 9-to-5 Chic.  And, of course, Corporette.

But I’m always looking for new blogs to read, so if you have a favorite professional fashion blog, leave it in the comments.  I think we could all use some more inspiration in the work-attire department.

xoxo, Belle

Belle, do you still use BlogLovin’? I started using it and like it okay, but I was wondering if there’s something better out there.

I love the blog “looks good from the back.” Most of the outfits the ladies post are work appropriate, and always give with a healthy level of snark!

I’ve had a lot of trouble finding good professional women’s blogs that diversify their content. I enjoy the fashion posts, but it’s just a little bit much when it’s all day every day. Love the work/life advice, thoughts on intriguing pieces of journalism, and product reviews. That’s what keeps me coming back.

    My favorite is: https://afashiondeliberation.blogspot.com/
I feel like she is the only blogger I’ve seen that nails professional wardrobe in an edgier, more minimalist (less classic/preppy) way. I love her style, I only wish she posted more!

Hello Framboise! and Stylish Petite have work outfit posts that are on point. The Classy Cubicle is good too. Wendy’s Lookbook often features work appropriate pieces (blazers, pencil skirts) even though the blog isn’t slanted towards office wear.

If I’m in need of inspiration and blogs aren’t doing it for me, I’ll look to famous political figures and take note of their outfits (many of which are suits). Kate Middleton, Princess Letizia Ortiz and Queen Rania Abdullah all have great style.

    A few favorites:

    Loop Looks https://looplooks.net
    Nine-Thirty to Five https://ninethirtytofive.blogspot.com
    Outfit Posts https://www.outfitposts.com

I second Outfitposts.com. For those of us in less formal fields, her outfits are perfect. I definitely have used her posts as inspiration and shopping guide this past year.

  9. Kiniha says:

alreadypretty.com is awesome for a funkier or more creative approach to office and professional attire–may not suit all offices all the time but fun for inspiration.

  10. Lindsay says:

I really like Marionberry Style. She recently left her office job to work in fitness, so I’m not sure what direction she will go in next.

I think Alterations Needed https://www.alterationsneeded.com/, while not a strictly professional work blog, has great content on how clothes should fit, especially for petite women. I am not petite, but I referred to one of her posts when trying to figure out if my newest blazer purchase fit correctly in the shoulders and through the sleeves.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.
