Street Level Reversible Faux Leather Tote ($48)

I briefly mentioned this bag during Friday’s Weekly Reading, but now that I’ve seen it in person, it deserves its own spot on the bill.  This Street Level tote has so much to offer that there are almost too many good things to name.

It’s Versatile.  Need a summer tote for the beach, for work, for weekend errands?  This is it.  Just enough structure for every day, just enough slouch for the off hours.  It also has a removable interior pouch to keep your items sealed away despite the open top.

It’s Reversible.  The bag comes in two color combinations: black/cognac and coral/tan.  You can reverse the bag to take advantage of both colors.

It’s Durable.  Unlike many faux-leather bags, the material feels good to the touch.  But since it’s faux, the bag should hold up to regular use quite well.

It’s Gorgeous.  Come on, look at this bag?  The simple hardware and classic shape.  The bold colors.  The easy elegance of the casual bag that doesn’t need to try so hard.  Frankly, I’d like to own the bag in both colors.

Simply put, this is one of those bags that if you don’t buy it, you’ll kick yourself later.

Just bought it in coral/tan. I hope the inside of the bag stays clean enough to be able to use the reversible side- I feel like a layer of crumbs/gunk sometimes builds up in the bottom of purses, and that would make it pretty hard to actually use it as intended. But even if I can’t use the tan side, I love the coral color.

I wish I had seen this before I bought the MK jet bag.

I bought this bag thanks to your earlier recommendation and I love it! I am not sure it reverses that well though, the seems are not finished the same on both sides.

A silly question, but one I don’t know the answer to. Are you supposed to keep the hanging fob on the outside of the bag?

  4. R says:

The site gives two different measurements for this bag. Which is correct? I’m only 5’1″ so I have to be careful about size!

  5. Heather says:

This bag looks great, but I’m wondering, does it fit a standard laptop (along with everything else I lug to work with me every day?)

    Thanks!

  6. If only it had a zip…

  7. Phoebe says:

Does the interior pouch attach to the bag? Or is it almost like a laptop sleeve/other large…pouch. haha

  8. Veronica says:

A version of this bag (with a tribal print on one side) is on sale via HauteLook for $35. I might give it a shot!

  9. Famouscait says:

    Is it heavy to carry?

  10. Fiona says:

I saw these reversible bags at Hong Kong’s Lai Chi Kok wholesale centre selling for about US$17, in more colour combinations. If anyone’s in Hong Kong you can definitely consider checking it out. I’m kicking myself for not getting one when I was there 2 weeks ago 🙁

  11. B says:

GREAT pick. Just ordered the black/cognac.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
