My Mom is in town visiting, so today is my Friday, I’ll see you ladies on Monday.

Banana Republic Martin Fit Pant ($79)

I love white cotton pants with simple blouses and sweaters for casual Mondays or semi-casual dinners with friends.  Unfortunately, it’s difficult to find lined white pants these days, but if I wear a smooth, flesh-toned thong (Hanky Panky Bare are my favorite), I don’t have a problem.

Gap also offers a white cotton pant with a tab front, but it has a wider leg for a beachy, relaxed feel.  If you prefer a skinny pant, Michael Kors makes his skinny trousers in white sateen.  Ann Taylor makes a lovely pair of cotton trousers, and also a pair of ankle-length skinny pants (also in petite). Lastly, J.Crew makes their popular stretch cotton pants in white.

If you need a lined pair of white trousers, Lafayette 148 makes a lined trouser in all the basic colors.  If you need something under-$100, Anne Klein makes a lined white pant (also in petite).

Plus-size? The lined Anne Klein trouser comes in plus-size, as do these Jones New York trousers.  Tall?  Banana Republic makes a white trouser in tall lengths.

I love the Martin pant! Great if you have an hourglass figure, they fit a small waist nicely, and of course love a lined trouser.

Nice selection! I’ll be in the market for some new pants very soon, and I like the skinny ankle length variety.

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.

Ask the Editor: Vol. IV, No. Eighteen

Before we start today’s reader questions, I wanted to take a moment to talk a bit about mental health. For those who experience mental health challenges — whether occasionally or frequently — talking about our struggles is a double-edged sword.
