1. Coach Python Trench ($428) // 2. Gigi New York Clutch ($135) // 3. Marble Print Dress ($60) // 4. Philippa Roberts Chalcedony Earrings ($163) // 5. Topshop Triangular Cuff ($20) // 6. H&M Drape Blouse ($30) // 7. Otte NY T Top ($159)
One. How spectacular is this trench? It makes me want to head over to the blood bank to raise the capital to buy it. (Could someone remind my Parents that my birthday is only two months away? Please. Thank you.) It’s a real showstopper. I also like their color block trench, which gives new meaning to the phrase “black and tan.”
I searched for something similar in a lower price point with no luck. However, this Fossil trench with leather accents that is half-the-price with some swagger of its own. I also adore this Nautica short trench in a blue and red print.
Two. Meaghan at District Sparkle turned me onto these Gigi New York clutches and I love them. They’re the perfect pouches to throw in your bigger work bags because they hold a.lot.more.than.you.think and they double as chic clutches. If you’re looking for something similar for less, try French Connection or West Elm (Personalizable…is that a word? Oh, you know what I mean.).
Three. Marble print is suddenly en vogue for more than countertops. I like this dress from Zara, and this chiffon blouse from Mango caught my eye. If you just want a hint of print (ooh! that rhymes), try this scarf from Distinkt.
Four. Chalcedony is quickly becoming one of my favorite gems (along with lapis and labradorite). I love the soothing green hue. If you’d like to try a pair of chalcedony (pronounced cal-said-oh-nee) earrings for less, try these drops or these studs, both under-$75 at Max and Chloe.
Five. Can you believe that this sweet Topshop cuff is only $20? I love the graphic design and the fact that it looks great from every angle. If you like the look of an open-work cuff but you want to keep it simpler, try this Rachel Roy with sparkly accents or this geometric Kenneth Jay Lane.
Six. This H&M blouse is going to sell out quick, so if you need to get it online, hurry. I also recommend heading into the store with the item number if that doesn’t work. If you can’t snap one up, try this BCBG blouse or this one from Topshop. Plus-size? Check out this Pleione blouse from Nordstrom.
Seven. I love a good cap sleeved silk tee. They’re the perfect choice for wearing with summer suits–no added sleeve bulk, still work appropriate sans jacket. I also like this ivory blouse from Joie and this Ann Taylor pleat-front top. Plus-size ladies should check out these Target tops from Pure Energy.
I love that silk tee you picked. As for the H&M blouse I find those blouses only look good on me if I belt them.. otherwise I look poochy in front.
Since St. Patrick’s Day is upon us and the term “black and tan” came up here, a PSA: careful how you use that phrase, when talking about a drink or when talking about a coat.
The Black and Tans were actually a force sent Ireland during its Revolution as quasi-military enforcers. They were nasty, and committed “almost casual murders.” The name comes from their mismatched uniforms.
Lots of folks in the US don’t know this origin story, but in Ireland, no one orders this drink.

Back to your regularly scheduled fashion…great set, love the dress.
Take is this is along the same lines of an Irish Car Bomb?
Yeah, indeed, that’s probably not the classiest drink order either. (I don’t have a spiel about that one though. 🙂 )
Love the marble dress! And I’m guessing you could accent it with almost any color shoe/jewelry?
Love your blog. I am so in need of re-freshing my white crew tees. (I had open heart surg. 2years ago and dislike u-neck or v-neck tees as my scar is prominent). My crew neck whites are workhorses in my fashion wardrobe and rotate with lots of travel and dress up and casual. I have seen the everlane you like, but necklines are not my fav. J. Crew are way too thick. I desire a tee that is slimming not boxy as I like to tuck mine into skirts/pants. Where can I find a good ( make that at least 3 new white tees?).
I so appreciate the advice.
I’ve worn Michael Stars and Caslon tees, it depends on what you like, but those are both nice brands.
