Printed Silk Dotted Blouse ($85)

A simple dotted blouse in a neutral color palette can be worn in any season.  J.Crew Factory has this blouse and a solid version in ivory and blue.

J.Crew Factory is having a sale for 20%-off three items, 30%-off four items.  So if you’re looking for a few new things, allow me to offer some more suggestions.

I bought these coral/pink Harper flats for myself last week and I like them a lot (also in black and charcoal).  This short-sleeved wool shift would be good for work.  If you’re a cardigan wearer, this is the place to be.  This dotted cardigan is versatile, and if you like the Jackie cardi at J.Crew-proper, the Clare cardigan is essentially the same piece for $39.

I love silk shirts so much. But in an effort to keep my wardrobe budget-friendly, I’m trying to avoid dry-clean-only shirts. Anyone found a good source for classy but washable silk tops?

  2. Belle from OK says:

My no. 1 piece of clothing is probably the Clare/Jackie cardigan. I have several colors, and I wear them over dresses, tshirts and tanks in the spring and summer. Navy is my favorite, and I have two navy Clare cardigans. Practical and comfortable.

  3. Mo says:

Do we need a code for the 20% off?

  4. JMW says:

Just a word of caution for the clare cardigan: while I’ve found the Jackie can withstand the washer/dryer, the clare fades and shrinks fast. I would recommend only washing and line drying. I typically buy my navy and black cardis from J.Crew and lesser used colors from Factory.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.

The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
