If you flipped through the street style photos from Fashion Week, you no doubt saw editors, bloggers and fashionistas wearing sneakers outside of the gym.  If you want to indulge in this trend, there are many routes you can take.  The cheapest of which is to wear the gym shoes you already own in a new way.  But my gym shoes are navy and pink, so I’d like something in a more neutral color palette.

These black and grey sneakers are perfect for my needs.  I’ve also seen several women wearing these beige New Balance kicks.  These one-color pale grey leather sneakers are a stylish minimalist choice.  These grey-on-grey Diesel sneakers also caught my eye.

I’ve also been thinking about a metallic sneaker.  These silver Josef Seibel sneakers are quite stylish, but these taupe metallic Ecco sneakers are at the top of my list.

Want something under-$50?  Try these Reebok Classics in black and white.

    Yay New Balance!

Apparently about a quarter of their shoes are officially Made in America, mostly in Western Mass. Doesn’t look like the Tomboy is one of those models, but it’s cool that they’re working on this. Interesting politics, as always.

I am so excited about this trend! It makes me happy to see things in style that are actually comfortable.

I have a pair of black sauconys that I really love that I’ll be wearing. I like your picks too!

    Love those Josef Seibel shoes.

I have the exact same gym shoes 🙂

Beyond excited about this trend. I’m running for office and canvassing every weekend for 7 hours a day. Dresses and pumas it is!

I might skip the Pumas. Unless you’re looking for a “signature”. Patty Murray (I think it was her) wore Nikes throughout her whole first campaign and made it a thing.
