Mixed Rib Open Cardigan ($98)

I love chunky, open cardigans.  You can wear them during the fall, winter and spring over dresses or belted over separates.  They’re the ultimate in style and function.

I also love this chevron stripe open cardigan from Banana–it has just the right amount of print.  I also like this Jones New York sweater in navy and white with a hint of orange.  This black and white cardigan from Ann Taylor is also a good choice.

Prefer something shorter?  This cardigan from LOFT is a stylish and affordable option.

Plus-size?  Try this Style & Co. cardi in grey melange.  Petite?  Have a look at this Old Navy open cardigan.

Love and need to replace the open cardigan that has been a workhorse for my wardrobe.

Belle, do you have a suggestion for a grey or black open cardigan in a higher price point? All three Banana Republic sweaters that I purchased this fall have disintegrated after just one season.

Lil – Check out Vince. They have some nice open cardigans.

It’s happened to all of us: You’re walking into a meeting and you catch a whiff of something. A slight odor. A bad smell. And you wonder, “Is that me?” You want to surreptitiously check that that unsavory aroma isn’t you, but you can’t do that here. So you just keep your arms at your […]

The Range: Best Picks from Ann Taylor

One of the questions that is often asked about D.C. fashion is: Why is there so much Ann Taylor? The answer is simple enough — the hemlines are long enough, the styles are easy to wear, almost everything is machine washable, and it’s easy to find pieces for professional offices or casual ones. Plus, there’s […]
