The Best Black Flats Ever

I recently said goodbye to my favorite basic black flats.  While searching for a replacement pair, I came across these Ann Taylor flats.  They are incredibly comfortable.  And you can’t see it very well in the photo, but the material is a textured, snakeskin-like leather.

If you don’t need the exotic leather, Ann Taylor also offers a basic leather flat in black and dark navy.  They also offer a similar flat in a D’orsay flat with a pointed-toe.

I find Ann Taylor’s shoes to be the most comfortable ones available in their price range.  I also have their Fabian leather pumps and find them comfortable even when I need to walk or stand for several hours.  So if you are still looking for comfortable, professional shoes, give these a try.

Not for the wide of feet, just FYI.

  2. Brittany says:

Own these shoes, wear them several days a week. No complaints at all, and I’ve had them for at least 5 months!

  3. Nancy M. says:

I bought the Fabian shoes per your previous recommendation, and they’re fantastic! Thanks!

Any recommendations for size 12 shoe wearers?

Thanks for posting this! I’ve been looking for the perfect black flat forever!

  6. Michelle says:

Anne Taylor shoes are definitely not for someone with narrow feet, either! Too bad – they are super cute, comfortable, and a great price!

ohh, i love ann taylor heels, but have yet to try their flats. i really liked their tortoiseshell/leopard ones from last season though. i own so many cheap pairs of flats, though — do you think these would be able to withstand the dc sidewalks?

  8. Elle says:

For everyone with narrow and wide feet, try the Cole Haan Manhattan flats. They’re amazing! I danced for years and my toes are a wreck, but their flats feel wonderful! And I like that their outlets carry present and past season shoes. Also, they were just featured on the Fodor’s most stylish travel shoes: https://www.fodors.com/news/fodors-approved-15-most-stylish-womens-shoes-for-travel-10294.html

  9. Anna says:

Ughhhhhhhh, my entire wardrobe comes from either Loft or Ann Taylor. I keep trying to branch out, but they keep having sales and make such classic pieces. Now they’ve had to go and make comfy shoes too! I own their perfect pump in nude and a pair of cute black suede loafers. This has to stop!

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
