Coach Is Killing It Softly

From Left, Madison Tote ($398) // Bleecker Riley Carryall ($498) //  Large Clutchable ($458) // Accordion Zip Wallet ($218) // Ocelot iPhone Cover ($38) // Croc Inlaid Leather iPhone Case ($68) // Chambers Heel ($175)

For many years, I ignored Coach’s products because the prevalence of monogram- and logo-printed items was more than I could bear.  (I don’t want my fashion choices to be a walking advertisement.)  But this season, the brand has created a collection in the muted hues of the autumn sky–misty purples, mauves and taupes.

Coach is by no means an inexpensive brand, but the pieces are well-made and timeless enough to be worn for decades.  In addition to the gorgeous pieces above, Coach also sells a Classic line that contains some of the best pieces from their past seasons.  I love their Basic Bag cross body satchel ($168) and their Court Bag satchel ($258).

My favorite piece on the page is easily the Chambers Heel.  It has a kitten-heel height and a fabulous mix of blush and rose gold.  I also love these black crystal encrusted heels for a night out on the town, and these cognac and snakeskin flats are the ultimate spring/summer shoe.

I bought the ocelot iPhone case above and I think this Bleecker Carryall in grey birch will be the perfect birthday present to myself.  The color and size make it the ideal warm weather work bag.

I’m loving Coach’s new arrivals, and it’s great to see a heritage brand reviving itself into something new.  Hopefully, the reinvention will continue.

These are fantastic. Thank you for posting and congratulations to Coach for an outstanding line of timeless products

I highly recommend their factory website. They have pretty nice things at a fraction of the cost and they usually have sales.

  3. Couldn’t agree more. the first nice bag I bought was Coach but things had already started to go downhill (this was around 2000). I don’t think I’d have noticed the happy return of cute items but then I needed a brown crossbody for safari last year and bought this: https://www.coach.com/online/handbags/Product-coach_classic_city_bag-10551-10051-9790-en?cs=tan&catId=5000000000000015030&navCatId=7100000000000000595. Classic and really nice quality.

I’m also obsessed with this overnight bag, but can’t quite stomach the price:

The best part about Coach is that they repair their leather goods for the life of the product. If it can be fixed, they will do it. Ralph Lauren offered no such help for two of my favorite work bags when the straps began fraying.

True. I had a classic leather Coach bag repaired recently. Mailed it off to Florida, it came back a few weeks later with a new strap, fixed perfectly. I’ve had that bag for years and will have it for many more. I was disappointed that they got away from the classics for awhile. Glad they’re coming back. Love the new non-logo styles, too.

Yes! I’m gravitating slowly away from Coach but I did buy my work cross-body/satchel from their factory store and it’s easily one of my favorites. Plus I have a wallet from them that’s so unobtrusive that my friend asked me just the other night at dinner what brand it was, because she couldn’t even tell.

I love my plain black coach handbag! I’ve been using it regularly for 7 years now and it still looks great.

  7. Anne says:

Love the recent direction Coach has been taking. Much more sustainable for the brand (the aughts were baaaad for them). But does anyone else find their web site really hard to navigate?

    • Ashley says:

I, too, have been impressed with the direction Coach has taken. The website drives me crazy; I find it very difficult to navigate!

  8. Anna says:

I’ve found a few things I like from them but just can’t bring myself to buy because of the tackiness of their other products.

  9. Laura says:

Belle you were dead on with this post. I used to despise Coach because I couldn’t staand those obvious monograms. I love the new look and I’m definitely going to be buying a new bag for the spring/summer season.

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.
