Belle’s Weekly Favorites: January 23, 2014

Jan 23, 2014

rsz_screen_shot_2014-01-23_at_32203_am1. Rebecca Minkoff Luscious Hobo ($425) // 2. Xhilaration Mesh Fit & Flare ($10) // 3. Zara Ankle Strap Flats ($59) // 4. Everlane Rounded Collar Blouse ($80) // 5. Jules Smith Zoe Bracelet ($59) // 6. Theory Silk Blouse ($138)

Pantone’s color of the year is Radiant Orchid, but I’ve never been a fan of bright purples.  I prefer ashy hues and deep jewel tones.  So this week’s favorites are a celebration of my favorite color palette.

One. This studded hobo from Rebecca Minkoff is the perfect choice for a woman who likes bold purses.  If you need it for less, try this Jessica Simpson bag with pewter accents.  I also love this Vince Camuto cross body bag, it has such a great shape.

Two. Who doesn’t love a good-looking $10 dress?  This mauve dress has a cool mesh trim, and if you’re not feeling the mauve/grey combo, it also comes in cobalt and black.

Three. The metal accents on these ankle strap flats are so chic, and the pale tan color is perfect for spring.  I also love these Sam Edelman flats with tiny studs on the front.  If you’re looking for something inexpensive in leather instead of suede, these Encino flats from Chinese Laundry are the way to go.

Four. Everlane is my new favorite store.  They have the best button-up silk blouses in their price range.  Above is the rounded collar shirt, they also make this shirt in a traditional pointed collar and a banded collar (my favorite!).  And don’t miss their gorgeous Scottish scarves.

Five. This bracelet is to die for.  It’s subtle, but it makes such a unique statement.  I also love the simplicity of Jules Smith’s Boyfriend Bangle.  Looking for a cable bracelet for less?  Try this rose gold bracelet from JC Penney.

Six.  This short sleeve blouse would look phenomenal tucked into a blouse or underneath a suit jacket.  I also found this printed Pippa blouse (under-$50) that would look amazing under a navy jacket or cardigan.  This tie-neck blouse in a grey, white and black palette is also amazing.

Plus-size? Try this pleated tie-neck from Land’s End.  Petite? I love this dotted Anne Klein blouse.  Tall? Try this pale blush top from Dorothy Perkins.

Hi Belle, I’ve been looking at Everlane blouses as well because I love my tees from there. How does sizing run on silk blouses compared to Equipment or even the J. Crew silk blouses? I’m normally a small but found I needed to size up for tees.

    • Whitney says:

Erin, I’ve found the Everlane silk blouses to run TTS. I take an 8/M in J.Crew’s button up shirts and the Everlane M fits me perfectly. I now own 4 Everlane tops and they’re all size M…the Ryan Pocket Tee fits on the large side but I think it’s supposed to. HTH!

      • KC says:

Erin – agree with Whitney. I’m a small across the board, in j crew and theory, and everlane small fits me perfectly. I only have one silk blouse, but can’t wait to get more stuff. Does any one own any of their bags? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The links for the Xhilaration dress aren’t working for me. Just a heads up!

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
