1. Mossimo Collarless Ponte Jacket ($35) // 2. Issa Printed-Jersey Dress ($305) // 3. Nila Anthony Studded Satchel ($72) // 4. Blossom Box Agate Ring ($120) // 5. Sole Society Helena Bootie ($54) // 6. Donna Karan Luxe Layer Tights ($24)

Miroslava Duma is the editor of Russian fashion mag Buro 24/7 and a staple of street style blogs everywhere.  Her impeccable taste definitely runs more haute couture than H&M, but with a little tweaking, you can achieve her looks on a budget.  This outfit, which I spotted on Pinterest, is a great work outfit for ladies in a creative field or who are looking to spice up their work attire.

One. Very few of us could consider a teal blazer a staple item, but it could be.  The color pairs well with nearly every neutral (try it with grey, black, white and navy), and the darker peacock shades look sophisticated when paired with colorful hues like burgundy and eggplant.  I like the Mossimo jacket, but my favorite teal blazer is this to.die.for Marc Jacobs Sparks jacket.

Two. I believe that Mira’s dress is Etro, a brand of bold prints that falls far outside of my price range.  So I went to plan-b, and found this teal printed Issa dress at the Outnet.  I also located this BCBG wrap dress in a similar color palette, and this Dorothy Perkins dress with a cowl neck and a fun print.  Plus-size?  Try this multi-colored IGIGI printed wrap dress.

Three.  In the photo, Mira wears a medium teal jacket with a dark teal Birkin (?) bag.  The look works because the contrast between the two shades of teal is strong.  Since I couldn’t find that exact shade in a satchel, I chose this unique, studded satchel instead.  If you’re looking for teal, this Sydney Love Buckle Satchel or this Vince Camuto Leila bag should do the trick.

Four. I wanted a cocktail ring to help pull the look together, and this agate one was the perfect mix of pretty and unique.  However, if you want something less expensive, this Sam Edelman large stone ring is a good pick.

Five. These low-cut booties are stylish and functional, and sadly, sold out in most sizes.  I did, however, find these Nine West Bellamie booties and these Impo Pride booties, which are similar and under-$100.

Six.  These Donna Karan tights are my new favorite leg wear.  Like Commando tights, they have a non-binding waist that won’t pinch.  They also have 100 denier thickness, for the ultimate opaque look.  And they have inner brushing to make them softer against your skin.  They’re the greatest.

Not a fan of teal?  You could recreate a similar look with other colors as well.  Go minimalist with a black and white dress and a white blazer.  Break out the burgundy with this DvF blazer and this black and burgundy print dress from Intermix.  So don’t be afraid to try this look with another color, it’ll work as long as the dress has a majority black print.

Saw It On Social: Rooted

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
