November’s Six Fabulous Beauty Buys

1. Tammy Fender Intensive Repair Balm ($130) // 2. Origins Clear Improvement Pods ($8) // 3. Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stain in Honey and Smitten ($7) // 4. Living Proof Prime Style Extender ($20) // 5. Illamasqua Powder Blusher ($26) // 6. Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Stick in Sugar Frost ($26)

One. This anti-oxidant rich Tammy Fender balm is the only thing that heals my skin when it’s dry and chapped.  And when my acne flares up, this balm alleviates the redness and helps heal the damage.  If you want to try it, but the price is more than you can stomach, new Beauty Bar customers can save 20%.  Still need a cheaper option?  First Aid Beauty makes a plethora of repairing face and body lotions including the 5-in-1 Restore Cream.

Two. I love the Origins Clear Improvement mask with active charcoal.  I put it on, sit in a hot bath and it helps clear up my complexion like magic.  But what to do when I travel?  These pods are the perfect solution.  Need more intense intervention?  Try GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment.

Three. I bought these lipsticks last month at CVS, and I adore them.  If you just want a hint of color, apply one coat or build up the layers for heavier coverage.  The Honey is a pink-nude color, while Smitten is a vibrant raspberry-hued shade.

Four. To maintain my hair color and my hair’s softness, I try to skip a day between washes.  In addition to a great dry shampoo, this style extender helps my hair maintain a smooth, voluminous blowout for at least two days.  I’m not sure how it works, but a little bit of this creamy product helps my second day style look as good as my first day style.

Five. I am a loyal Bobbi Brown blush wearer, but I wanted a soft pink shade to accomplish the bare/nude cheek look, and her nude peach shade did not work on my olive skin.  This Illamasqua blush gives me just enough pink while maintaining a bare look.  Want a cream blush?  Try Illamasqua’s Zygomatic shade.

Six. The Beauty Department has a fun holiday makeup tutorial for a subtle frosted eye look.  I am obsessed with their take on soft and sparkly shadow.  They use this caviar eye stick from Laura Mercier to achieve the look, but if you need a less expensive pencil try Rimmel Scandaleyes in Bulletproof Beige for a bit of gold, and NYX Cottage Cheese Jumbo Eye Pencil for a soft ivory.

I’m in love with the Living Proof Style Extender. I spent my Sephora points on a delux sample box and am so glad I did. All the products are phenomenal and I plan on replacing them with full size bottles when they run out. For what it’s worth, the delux sample box gives you a pretty large tube (for a sample) of the style extender if anyone is looking to kill Sephora points.

Do you guys think this would keep natural curls springy between washes or is if strictly for straight blowdried styles?

Tammy Fender Intensive Repair Balm changed my life!!! It is THE ONLY thing to heal my dry, red, crazy-flaky winter skin. And, bonus, it does as promised and erases decade-old acne scars! This is the only product I’ve ever used where you think, “this must be too good to be true,” but actually isn’t! Yes, it still kills my soul every 1.5 months when I buy a new bottle b/c it is expensive, but I just think about all the dermatologist appts, RX drugs, over the counter products, make up counter products etc. I’ve wasted over the years. Now, this is all I need.

I got a free sample of the Living Proof Style Extender from sephora and really liked what it did for my hair. The one problem I had was washing it out–it seemed to stay in my hair even after shampooing, and got a little greasy. I use sulfate-free shampoo, so I’m wondering if that was the problem (but seems odd since Living Proof’s shampoos are sulfate-free).

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
