BPGP: Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer

Nov 6, 2013

13521050I have tried every under-eye concealer ever created.  I have used thick ones and creamy ones.  Pink ones and yellow ones.  But over the last few weeks, long hours and insomnia have me reaching for the only concealer that hides them away: Instant Age Rewind Eraser Concealer and Treatment ($9).

Age Rewind is the perfect consistency to blend naturally without sacrificing coverage, no brush required.  It’s not too heavy, but you can build it if necessary.  You can also reach into the corner of your eye and spread the concealer down your cheek to prevent “raccoon eyes.”

I’ve used this concealer on-and-off for a few years, but until I started applying it under my foundation, I never got the full effect.  To apply it flawlessly, I put on my primer first.  Then, the under-eye concealer, patting around the edges with my finger tip to blend.  After that, I apply my foundation and face concealer.  Lastly, I tap on translucent powder to set the makeup using a highlighter brush for good coverage under the eyes.

Need a major amount of concealment (like I did on a recent business trip)?  Apply a thin layer of the brightener Ooh La Lift after primer but before concealer.

The best thing about the Age Rewind Concealer?  It not only covers your circles, the spongy applicator fills and smooths fine lines.  And the formula treats puffiness and darkness with goji berry, haloxyl and collagen.  So if you’re looking for a new under-eye concealer, Age Rewind is definitely worth a shot.

What is the difference, if any, between under-eye concealer and the concealer you’d use to cover a zit/scar/other blemish?

  2. Hilary says:

I picked up a tube of this a few weeks ago and am loving it so far! I’ve been putting it on over my bb cream but will have to try it under (and also actually use that primer I have).

I love this stuff too! Dakota, the difference between under-eye vs. any other concealer is the formula. Most decent under eye concealers are more creamy and moisturizing as they should be…this area is delicate, but still needs a lot of help.

  4. Nicole says:

I just got a sample of the Benefit Fakeup in my Birchbox and I really loved it. Might be worth a shot if you’re still looking around!

  5. BN says:

How does it compare to YSL Touche Eclat?

  6. Holly says:

I tried this on Belle’s recommendation and didn’t like it. I didn’t think the coverage was great and I don’t consider myself as having bad under eye circles (I’m not embarrassed to go out without concealer). I applied it under or over BB cream, or under a powder foundation.

I much prefer maybellines 24 hour concealer, but shade selection is limited.

  7. Lexie R says:

I am not a huge fan of this either. I love the applicator and it looks great in the morning. However, most days it creases and/or flakes by afternoon, even if I wear a primer and set with powder. I’m only 25 so wrinkles and such are not the issue. Wish I loved it, but unfortunately, I can’t say that I do.

  8. VA says:

I really like this concealer. My only complaint is that I feel like I run out too often. Belle, how frequently do you go through a tube?

For eight years, I have worn the same workout shorts. Every year, an influencer tries to sell me new shorts. I order them. I try them on. They pale in comparison to the shorts I already own. I return them.
