Pinterest Mondays: Mixing Neutrals Like a Pro

1. Zara Leather-Like Pencil Skirt ($60) // 2. Bailey 44 Lace Cardigan ($184) // 3. Equipment Brook Blouse ($168) // 4. Lauren Newbury Satchel ($298) // 5. Sole Society Anneke Pump ($60) // 6. Melinda Maria Stackable Rings ($148) // 7. Revlon Colorstay Perennial Plum ($10)

Today’s Pinterest look comes to us from Corporate Catwalk.  It’s a mix of brown, navy and black, a tricky combination to be sure.  But with the right amount of attitude and the right accessories, it works.

One. Faux-leather skirts are an affordable way to take advantage of one of the season’s biggest trends.  This cognac leather number plays well with black or color–it would be lovely with jewel-tones or pastels.  However, if you prefer black, try this skirt from Karen Kane.  Plus-size? No brown choices, but this black Sejour skirt is a good choice.

Two and Three.  Because I couldn’t find a blue sweater with black lace, I opted for a sheer, black lace sweater with a navy blouse underneath.  This sweater, from Bailey 44, is a versatile option.  It would look lovely over cocktail attire for holiday parties.  But if you need something less expensive, try this Mango lace cardigan or this $30 option from Loehmann’s.

I chose a sleeveless navy blouse to cut down on bulk.  If you’d like a long-sleeve blouse, try this under-$100 charmeuse top from NYDJ.  Or if you want to skip the sweater, I found this awesome navy blouse with black lace insets in the sleeves.

Four.  Her bag is from Fendi; it’s the fabulous 2Jours bag.  It’s too rich for my blood, but this Ralph Lauren bag is very similar.  If you need something even less expensive, try this vegan leather doctor bag from Urban Outfitters.

Five.  The Valentino Rocker Stud heels are a blogger staple, but these Sole Society pumps are a good alternative for ladies on a budget.  If you think the studs are too much for your workplace, these chic Sole Society t-straps are a truly stylish alternative.

Six. Like the look of skinny rings, but not looking to start a collection?  Then, invest in a set of stackable rings.  Try this set from Indulgems or this set from Express.

Seven. I spotted this color on the Instagram of Kara Manos, and I love it.  It’s just the right mix of pink and purple.  And it’s $10…lovesit.
