10th Commandment: October 16

Oct 16, 2013

Dear Belle,

My longtime favorite (only?) black turtleneck sweater is no longer wearable, and I’ve had a hard time finding a replacement.  I want something that isn’t super-tight and clingy, but not so loose that it looks like a sweatshirt.  And no ribbing.  Just a nice smooth black turtleneck sweater that I can wear to work, out in the evening, etc.

Perhaps the best way to answer this question is in the 10th Commandment post.

I also think Land’s End is a great source for this kind of thing. I’ve got a cashmere black turtleneck from them that I love and wear pretty much everywhere (work, church, out). It’s substantial without being heavy, and it looks great plain or layered under a scarf, vest, etc. I loved it so much I bought another in navy, and now they’re my winter wardrobe workhorses.

How on earth does one wear turtlenecks without looking like a giraffe? I can never seem to pull one off without looking like my neck is either insanely long or I look like a bobble head…

Add to Cart: Five Recent Amazon Purchases

Since my daughter was born, Amazon has claimed so much of my money that I had to buy stock just to get some of it back.  Between the formula, onesies, fruit pouches, diapers, wipes, and ever evolving list of baby development gear, I could not survive without Prime.   My husband no longer notices the […]
