Happy Hour: A Chilly Apple Cider Cocktail

Sep 20, 2013

When I think of apple cider, I think of steaming mugs of spicy liquid and chilly afternoons.  But since I spotted an iced apple cider cocktail on Pinterest, all I can think about is what kind of party I can host so I can serve this fruity concoction.

The blogger at Sugar and Charm offers a delightful recipe for apple cider, that on its own would be tasty enough.  Perhaps with a shot of maple whiskey?  But this is about an iced apple cider cocktail, and Sugar and Charm makes hers with her homemade apple cider and a shot of vodka.  So if you’re looking for a delicious apple cider recipe that can provide the perfect foundation of an autumn cocktail, look no further.

Vanessa Bruno At the Cable-knit mini dress ($135)

Sweater dresses and boots, sweater dresses and boots…I’m so excited.  I can barely contain myself.  And this chunky knit dress from The Outnet is perfect for weekend wear.  I’d pair it with a flat chocolate boot and coordinating tights.

If you like the look of cable, but you need to spend less, try this Old Navy dress in a handful of colors for $35.

Three Dots also made a couple of stylish sweater dresses for fall.  I love this asymmetric style with a balloon sleeve, and this colorblock dress in a muted palette.  If you’d like something similarly sleek for under-$100, try this striped dress from JCPenney.

Plus-size ladies should check out this long sleeve Michael Kors dress in black or this Spense dress in deep teal.  Petite ladies, this Labworks dress in short sleeve is a steal, and this chevron-striped dress from Trina Turk is incredible (also comes in misses size).

All your drinks look lovely – I really wanted to try the bourbon cream one and this with maple whiskey sounds great – but I’ve never been able to find those spirits in the dc metro area…..any idea where to buy?
