Shoe: Dolce Vita Gav Flat ($149 + 25% off)

From Left, Bracelets: Blu Bijoux Large Link Bracelet ($30) and Banana Republic Glamour Link Bracelet ($50) Belt: Brass Link Bracelet ($24) Bag: Padlock Leather Shopper ($150) Dress: J.Crew Half-Placket Dress ($168)

From Right, Sunglasses: Gucci Metal Aviators ($385) Ring: House of Harlow Crosshatched Ring ($60) Bag: Rachel Zoe Eve Tote ($295) Jacket: AE Vegan Moto Jacket ($100) Top: BGN Tie Neck Blouse ($149) Denim: Paige Skyline Skinny ($189)

For August. This dress and shoe combination is perfect for a casual workday in the late summer.  I love the vibrant green and the mix of textures on the shoes.  For the early fall, I would switch the kelly green dress out for a peacock teal or a forest green.

To jazz up this frock, I chose to layer two chain bracelets, one with blue and green resin.  I like the pop of color the resin bangle brings.  You could also wear a wood bangle if you’re looking for something simpler.

I also added a belt because the dress needs a little something at the waist.  I like this skinny belt, but you could go for something wider like this braided Vince Camuto belt.  I chose tan for this outfit, but you could also choose a grey bag and a grey belt.

For the hair, I would either wear it down or up in a bouncy ponytail placed higher on the head.  For the makeup, I would choose a dark berry nail color, like Lippman Good Girls Gone Bad, and a rosy lip like Estee Lauder Pose Rose.

For October.  I spotted this faux leather jacket on Jaclyn Day’s blog and thought it was a pretty cool style for an inexpensive faux-leather jacket.  I also like this Kenneth Cole wide collar faux leather jacket for $110.  But if you’re looking for something in real leather, I’m partial to this Helmut Lang oyster jacket.

I love the interplay between the satin, berry tie-neck blouse and the leather jacket.  And how great is the banded bottom on this blouse?  It is perfect for wearing over this black midi-pencil skirt from Vince Camuto.  So chic.

On second look, I am not as crazy about these dark accessories.  I love the slouchy Rachel Zoe tote and the crosshatch ring as a combo, but I think I would try it with a lighter gray Follie Follie bag and a labrodorite or druzy ring instead (love the flecks of purple with the blouse).

Also, I’m still on my aviators kick, but these ones are black so it’s totally different (*wink*).  If you’re looking for a cheaper pair, try these under-$100 ones from Armani Exchange.

For the hair, I would wear it up in a messy updo.  For the makeup, I would wear a sheer plum lip and black liner and mascara applied with a liberal hand.

I love that J Crew dress! Thanks for the great find, Belle.

Just a warning – I recently bought and returned that dress. It is very much “skimming” the body, which means it basically fits like a sack. I even tried to size down because of this description on the website and it looked bad (not to mention short). Also unlined so just wait for a sale – that dress is barely worth 50 bucks.

Since my daughter was born, Amazon has claimed so much of my money that I had to buy stock just to get some of it back.  Between the formula, onesies, fruit pouches, diapers, wipes, and ever evolving list of baby development gear, I could not survive without Prime.   My husband no longer notices the […]
