Kaleidoscope Dress ($59 + 20% off)

I spotted this dress last week and thought it was interesting.  The pattern was different, the colorblocking was cool, the color palette was very wearable…but I didn’t think it was right for the blog.  However, after my fourth visit to the site to look at it again, I thought differently.

Printed sheath dresses require a bit more styling to make them work appropriate, but it can be done.  The fit of this dress is a bit snug, similar to a Rebecca Taylor pencil dress, so I typically size up and then tailor where necessary.  Since Dorothy Perkins dresses run a bit small, I will take a size 8 instead of my usual 4 to compensate for the sizing issue and give me a sleeker, less snug fit.

Like the idea of a printed pencil dress but not this one?  I love this floral print sheath from Black Halo.  This under-$30 dress brings back tie-dye in the best way.  This dress has a gorgeous wood-block print and a pretty blue color palette.  This white and black dress also has a charming dot print.

Plus size ladies might like the bright mix of colors in this print, and the colorful accent on this black and white print sheath.  I also found this pretty blue and white floral dress and this dotted sheath with contrast belt.

Exactly how I felt, Amy. I keep telling my Mom that sometimes wearing a dress is the occasion, esp. when you live in Montana, where there is never an occasion where jeans are not allowed.

Looks like evening wear, not office attire to me.

Throw a blazer or cardigan over it and wear sensible shoes and it’s definitely office appropriate (at the right office). Great pick.

Am I the only one who has issues with sunbursty patterns over my lady bits area? It just seems to me that it is SCREAMING- look! RIGHT HERE! THIS IS WHERE MY BUSINESS IS! Just me? ok. 🙂

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
