1. Crystal Cluster Earrings ($68) // 2. Silk Peasant Blouse ($98) and Short Sleeve Tea Blouse ($70) // 3. Pernille Corydon Star Ring ($65) // 4. Fantasy Fabric Dress ($80) // 5. Michael Kors Delphine Slingback ($135) // 6. Casey Belt ($45) // 7. Fossil Erin Satchel ($218) // 8. Alia Cuff ($250)

One. I love that these earrings sparkle, but not in a fussy way.  The sharper edges and uneven appearance make them a great choice for casual or dressier outfits.  And if you are looking for a more expensive pair, either for yourself or as a gift, I adore this uber-dainty ruby and diamond pair.

Two. I love bright pink in the summer and the fall.  It pairs well with navy, white, grey and chocolate-brown.  I also like to mix it with other colors like orange, red, mint and cobalt.  This Madewell blouse has a ‘neon persimmon’ pattern and a peasant shape, while the short sleeve blouse has a slightly boxy cut that make it a great choice for jeans or trousers.

If you like a peasant blouse, this cotton and silk version can do double duty as casual and business casual attire.  I also like the orange and white print on this Jones of New York blouse.  Plus size?  Try this sheer black top with Swiss dots.  Petite?  I like the blue and white floral print on this blouse.

Three.  I adore rings with thin bands and medallions or charms.  I like this star, but this infinity symbol is lovely as well.  This arrow ring from Gorjana is also a lovely choice.

Four. This Zara dress is to die for.  I love the cut, the textured fabric and the cap sleeve.  Wear it now with sandals and a clutch.  Wear it in November with black tights and a long blazer.

Five. These slingbacks are a great work shoe.  They’d look lovely under trousers or with a skirt.  They also have enough detail to make them interesting, and the price is certainly right.  They also come in basic black.

Six. I’m always on the hunt for belts that have a neutral color and a bit of style.  I love the double loop on this belt and the skinny, but not too thin, width.  I also like this $11 belt and this wider belt with a narrow buckle.

Seven. I spotted this bag on a woman in the airport last week.  I was a bit surprised when she told me it was from Fossil, but they have some really cool bags right now.  The Erin satchel above also comes in black, gray and a gorgeous magenta.  (Am I the only one who thinks of Rocky Horror whenever I see that color advertised?)  I also love this Erin crossbody bag in a selection of neutrals, the magenta and bright orange.

They also make a line of bags called Memoir that are very reminiscent of the J.Crew Edie bags at a much nicer price.  I adore this top handle bag and this $148 flap bag in bright cobalt. And if it’s small leather good you’re after, this wallet looks like it might be worth a shot.  I also want this colorblock pouch.

Eight. This Tory Burch cuff has some really lovely details on it, but that’s a lot of money for a piece of fashion jewelry.  What about this bronze bracelet instead?  Or this black resin Mango cuff? And if you’re just looking for something cheap to toss into the rotation, this $9 plastic cuff has some cool art deco details.

My dark under eye circles have been the bane of my existence since I was 12. Is the cause lack of sleep? Dehydration? Sinus issues? Stress? Who the hell knows. But there they are, every day, telling the world that I am an exhausted working Mom.

Sloane loves the pool. She jumps from the deck into the water with a crash, never considering her own safety, only to emerge on the surface, shouting “Again!” The pool is my daughter’s happy place. But no place where I need to wear a swimsuit in public is a happy one for me.

The Mondays: July 22, 2024

The Crowdstrike/Microsoft Meltdown forced me to take a few days off this weekend. No laptop. No billable hours. So we packed Sloane up for a visit to a local llama farm, stopped by the pool, went for coffee, etc. Few things are as funny as watching a 23-month old feed carrots to a ravenous rescue […]
