I may not be ready for summer weather (those 90-plus-degree temps last week were just a bit too much, too soon), but I am ready to breathe some color back into my wardrobe.
One. This lightweight navy scarf is soft, wide and richly colored. It would look lovely with striped pieces, chambray pieces or worn with a colored trench for protection from the breeze.
Two. As you know, I was in need of a new pair of Aviators. I originally wanted classic Ray-Bans, but the wider frame on these Juicy ones (I know, the sweatpants people, I know) looked better on me. They were also cheaper. Awesome.
Three. Sometimes, when I’m Internet-window-shopping, I find an item that elicits a verbal response. This printed maxi from Temperley drew forth an audible “whoa.” I LOVE the vibrant color and festive print. And even though I’m not usually down for the peasant dress style, the slimmer skirt makes this dress a winner.
Looking for something cheaper? I found this “scarf-printed” maxi and this great chevron print dress. I also like this knee-length peasant dress in bright cobalt for $66. But if you want the full-Nicole Richie, boho-chic, flower child, following-The-Dead-on-tour look, try this Free People dress.
Four. I’ve been hunting for a pair of studs that are interesting, but still a wardrobe basic. I’ve decided on a pair of knots. I like the Kate Spades in the set, but I’m also considering these pretty rose gold “forget-me-knots” and these chocolate-brown metal ones from Bauble Bar.
Five. I adore summer textures like eyelet, Broderie Anglaise and Swiss dot. This tank is gorgeous, but sadly out of my reach. Instead, I’m considering this J.CREW tank, this collared Broderie blouse or this inexpensive mixed-texture top.
Six. Despite my pear shape, I bought this striped skirt and I am hoping for the best. Now, if I could only find the striped crop-top that does with it (don’t judge until you see the look). Not sure how to wear the skirt solo? The designer also makes this great multi-stripe dress.
Seven. Bright yellow is like Prozac for your wardrobe. I love this vibrant dress from Tucker, it’s so playful and fun. Want a yellow dress that’s work appropriate? Try this colorblock dress, this inexpensive sheath or this fit and flare dress.
Eight. These Chloe sandals are my favorite sandal of the season, so far. Sadly, they are just to pricey for my liking. These Ivanka Trump sandals are a great alternative, as are these under-$100 BCBGeneration sandals.
Nine. Looking for a casual crossbody bag for summer? I love this flap satchel from Fossil. It’s just the right size, and the dark cognac color makes it an easy all-season piece. I also like this slightly-larger Topshop one as well.
“following-The-Dead-on-tour look” HAHA!! Love!
