Anthropologie, the Source for Spring Dresses

Mar 26, 2013

Once upon a time, nearly every piece in my wardrobe was from Anthropologie.  I was 22, and rocking the boho-kitschy thing.  It wasn’t me, but it worked at the time.    This season, their selection of fabulous dresses goes from flirty to pretty to sleek, and I am loving a lot of their pieces.  Here are a few of my favorites.

Bottlegreen Dress ($148)

This dress is perfect for an outdoor wedding.

78892434

Islington Pencil Dress ($158)

The texture on this dress is fantastic, and the barely-covering-the-knees length is so sleek and sexy.

78613438

Swirled Paisley Halter ($158)

Backyard barbecues, sunday brunches and baby showers have never been so stylish.

76894060

Norvel Dress ($78)

I love the ballerina leotard details on the bust of this dress and the emerald green color.  It’s the perfect weekend dress.

79237555

Strathmore Dress ($118)

Add a cardigan and you’ve found a great casual Friday dress.

Why must the Anthropologie store be so close to my house?  Excuse me, I need to go freeze my debit card in a block of ice.

They just posted a 20% off all dresses sale. Your post could not be more timely.

I stopped shopping at Anthro a few years ago because I felt the prices were extremely high for the poor quality. For the most part, the items I’ve bought there pilled/faded/stretched out etc. very quickly even compared to low-level retailers like Old Navy. Belle, or readers, have you had different experiences with Anthro items?

I think it depends on the item, the knit pieces seem to vary from designer to designer in terms of what wears well and what won’t last longer than this season. I have been very pleased with the dresses I have purchased from there over the last few years and all have held up very well. Also have a jacket that has been great for the more mild winter here in South Carolina.

I can’t remember which store site I was on yesterday that all the skirts barely covered the model’s butt’s. So to see these lengths is a welcome change. You can (nearly) always take off some length. The reverse, not so much.

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
