Faux Pas: Do you smell what I smell?

A ruffled, skunk-printed silk top.  And it costs $225.  Sometimes, I think J.CREW is punking me.

Oh, and just in case you want this print to cover your entire body with the Pepe Le Pew Collection, there’s a skirt too.

Oh, JCrew. Some of the gals over at JCrew Aficionada really love the skirt – I have no idea why. Do. Not. Understand. At. All.

  2. Valerie says:

    Punking? More like skunking.

  3. Valerie says:

It would be cute if there was another animal (any animal, really) in the tiny print.

  4. Lexi says:

I think skunks are really adorable (doesn’t mean I hang out with them). That said, I’m not big on animals on my clothes. That’s a trend I don’t understand.

  5. I think the print is really cute (though J Crew silk can be really thin and not super well made so the shirt is almost certainly over priced.

  6. Mags says:

I’m way into this blouse. Sometimes you have to push the envelope a little if you want to avoid the mundane fashion the District instills in residents. A small (unexpected) animal print is a fun twist.

  7. Jamie says:

I agree with Mags that I really like the blouse. However not for $225. That’s just crazy!

  8. Pancakes says:

I like the skunk print, but not for that price.

  9. Kay says:

This is a cute casual shirt, but not for the office. I would a) look like a 5 year-old child on a Bambi kick as I presented research to my boss and b) everyone in my office would be all over the Pepe LePew jokes, and rightfully so. Not mention H&M will have a $30 knock-off of this next month.

  10. M says:

+1 to Lexi. I’m good with animal print. Not printed animals. Seems so childish.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
