Some Sad News

Feb 24, 2013

Hi Ladies,

I came home from my trip and discovered that my modem has completely crapped out.  Funny, since Comcast told me repeatedly that the problem was NOT the modem.  Thus, there will not be an Academy Awards liveblog this year.  I will probably tweet a few of my thoughts from my cell phone though, so if you want to hit up my Twitter page, here’s the address.

Check back tomorrow for our usual AA coverage brought to you by the wi-fi connection at my local Starbucks.  See you then!

xoxo,

Belle

I had to laugh at, “if you want to hit up my Twitter page, here’s the address.” Belle, you’re in your 20s, right? And considerably Internet-savvy? Please learn appropriate online lingo because this is just weird & sad.

I’ve been having problems with my Comcast service/modem. It randomly stops for 5, 10, 20 minutes and is slow the rest of the time. Comcast finally agreed on Thursday to let me pick up a new modem at their office in Arlington. Good luck–it’s such a pain!

  3. AnnS says:

Well, Kara, you’ve managed to just make yourself look “weird and sad” by criticizing with no good reason. Of course, that could just be because my ancient 36 year old self could find nothing wrong with the phrase used by Belle. Que sera!

  4. Jenn L. says:

    Wow Kara.

Could you find anything more petty to bitch about? Perhaps you woke up too early today.

  5. Jenn L. says:

    Or yesterday, rather.

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.

Ask the Editor: Vol. IV, No. Eighteen

Before we start today’s reader questions, I wanted to take a moment to talk a bit about mental health. For those who experience mental health challenges — whether occasionally or frequently — talking about our struggles is a double-edged sword.
