Happy Hour: Dreaming of Summer

Jan 18, 2013

I am so over winter.  And the sad part is, it hasn’t even gotten started in earnest yet.  I’m not sure when I went from being a Montanan who thought temperatures in positive digits were a tropical heat wave, to a prissy East Coaster who shivers when it’s 45-degrees outside, but here I am.

Clearly, I’m dreaming of summer.

This cocktail, a combination of bourbon, thyme-simple syrup and blood orange sounds like the best of summer and winter mixed in a glass.  And how gorgeous is that color?  It reminds me of…

DvF Eon Peplum Sheath Dress ($465)

…this dress from DvF that has been haunting my dreams for a few days.

The sculpted neckline, the unexpected mix of colors and the bright skirt are truly crush-worthy.  It’s certainly one-of-a-kind.

Finding something similar in a lower price point was not, NOT, easy.  In fact, it proved impossible.  So I chose to focus on the bright coral/orange color that drew my eye.

This fitted dress has a origami-folded peplum and comes in a brilliant orange-red.  If you’re looking for a minidress, this coral sheath is pretty hot.

Like the color but want to rent not own?  This Robert Rodriguez dress from Rent the Runway is fantastic.

Love this dress but…dang it is not going to work with a bra of any kind

This dress is seriously going to haunt my dreams too! Love it

That colour is just gorgeous! I'm not sure if I like the top part of the dress but maybe it's just the black and white against the coral, but I could see myself wearing something similar!

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
